Hagley Chess Club is based within Worcestershire in between the active lifestyles of those that live in Stourbridge and the hussle and bussle of Kidderminster. Hagley is a small village with an active community that engage in many other activities such as bridge, football and the local village fayre.

Hagley Chess Club has been in existence for over 20 years and has always played an active part in local chess throughout Worcestershire and the Dudley area. It has close links with other local clubs including Halesowen, Stourbridge and Kidderminster.

Hagley Chess Club is always on the lookout to increase its membership of 18 with players of all calibre, beit a novice to the game or an experience damateur, Hagley can provide chess for all abilities. 

Membership at Hagley is just £30 per year for an adult which includes grading all official internal matches and free refreshments. Junior membership is just £5. To cater for junior members at the club, Andrew Moore is an ECF Accredited Chess Coach with an enhanced CRB but we encourage parents of juniors to participate in the club too.

Hagley play a team in both the County and District leagues of Worcestershire. Hagley in the seasons of 2008/9 and 2009/10 were the County Dividion 2 winners and have taken promotion to division 1 for the 2010/11 season. Hagley play chess every Friday night between September and April at Hagley Free Church, next to the Station Pub on Worcester Lane in Hagley.  In the Summer we play bi weekly from May till the end of August.
